Happy Halloween

This year I decided it would be fun if my costume went with Boston's costume. I am the witch that turned him into a frog. I found these ridiculous spidery eyelashes and an awesome witch hat. Then I made my costume. I had fun sewing the costume. I had to try and figure out how to make a corset and add eyelets to material. I have used eyelets on paper, but never on fabric. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I was going to make Boston's costume, but I couldn't find a pattern I liked for him. I decided it would be easier just to buy him one.
We went trick or treating around our neighborhood. There was one house that was really decked out with creepy decorations. I started taking Boston toward the house and he started bawling. I told him we would not go to the house. As we were walking away he was crying and saying "bye, bye." It was so sad. I felt so bad for him. It took him two houses to start having fun again.
He would say trick or treat when we were walking to the houses, but once we got to the door, forget about saying trick or treat. There was no way he was going to say Trick or Treat to the people. He thought it was awesome that everyone was giving him candy. After every house he would say "Trick or Treat candy?" I had to keep telling him we would go to another house.

We also carved pumpkins today. Darin carved a spooky looking skull pumpkin. I carved a Mickey Mouse pumpkin.

Second Birthday

Boston had his second birthday at the beginning of the month. He got a hat at daycare for his birthday. We wore it for three days straight. Finally when he wasn't looking I threw it away, so he won't wear it anymore.

I decided to be all crafty and make him a Lightning McQueen cake. I have been watching all these cake shows and was inspired to try to use fondant. I made marshmallow fondant. It tastes better than normal fondant, but it is still really sweet. When Boston saw his cake, he loved it!

We got Boston a bike for his birthday. He thinks it is so cool! The bike doesn't have petals and is supposed to help teach them how to balance faster. We will see how it works. Everyone decided they needed to give it a try.

Australian Brother

My brother got home from his mission a few weeks. He went to Australia and now has a cool accent. Here are a couple of pictures I took at his homecoming.

Rough Week

Poor Boston has had a rough week with accidents. On Monday he put his hand inside the car tire and touched the brake pad and burnt his little fingers. I felt so bad, because he was screaming and I couldn't figure out why. I thought he pinched his fingers or got stung by a a bee. By the time I figured it out he was starting to get a blister. He cried for two hours and I had to keep it in cold water for a long time.

On Saturday he was coming inside from playing outside and slipped on the steps and got a scratch on his face.

On Sunday he was playing on the Lovesac and slipped off and bonked his forehead on the windowsill. To top things off he is supposed to be getting his two year old pictures soon. I guess we will have to wait until he is healed.

Baseball Fan

Boston loves to run around playing baseball. He will grab a ball and play catch for an hour. When that gets old, he asks for the bat, then he runs around the house hitting the ball. Thank goodness we have an inflatable bat. Every time we turn on the TV he wants to watch baseball. I don't know what we are going to do when baseball season is over. We will have one unhappy kid.

Good Little Helper

Boston thinks it is a blast to help clean the toilets. Whenever I tell him it's time to clean the bathrooms, he runs straight to the toilet and grabs the cleaning brush. I think it's because of the water and bubbles, but hey it works to my benefit.

One day Boston thought it would be a good idea to put sunscreen on. He opened the bottle and spread it all over himself and his clothes. He put enough on to last a week. I thought it was hilarious until he rubbed some in his eye. He started screaming and it took forever to rinse it out.

Summer Fun 2010

Boston and I have been having a great time this summer. Here are some pictures to show the partying.

Boston loves to play and watch baseball with his dad.

Boston playing at the park.

Boston loves to help me garden. He helps water the plants and cement. He also pulls flowers when he shouldn't.

What can be better than outside?

An afternoon at the bike shop.

Why use a table, when you can lay on the floor to eat cheerios?
